David Throckmorton Jr., DDS

Dr. David Throckmorton has provided high-quality family and cosmetic dentistry to those in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and the surrounding cities in the Hampton area since 2006. With many years of dental education and experience, Dr. Throckmorton can help your family achieve healthy smiles.

Dr. Throckmorton is a native of Virginia and attended First Colonial High School here in Virginia Beach. His undergraduate studies were completed at James Madison University, and he received his DDS degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Following his graduation from dental school, Dr. Throckmorton completed a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the VAMC in Hampton.

As a dentist, Dr. Throckmorton’s goal has always been to provide the opportunity for as many people as possible to have healthy, happy teeth for life. He aims to provide affordable, attainable, and maintainable smiles. He helps everyone achieve healthy smiles through his volunteer work at various health clinics and Homeless Connect.

As a certified Invisalign® provider, Dr. Throckmorton can also help discreetly straighten your teeth so you can enjoy a smile that is healthier, better functioning and more beautiful. He also consistently exceeds the requirements for continuing education courses each year to better serve his patients. Some of the advanced training he has received includes courses in restorative dentistry, occlusion, TMJ and bruxism, root canal therapy, and, of course, Invisalign® treatment.

When not at the office, Dr. Throckmorton enjoys family time. He is married to his beautiful wife, Vicky, and they have two active sons, David and Jacob. Dr. Throckmorton’s hobbies include exercising (he enjoys CrossFit at Hybrid), reading, and various water and land sports with his family and friends. He also has a passion for art.
